On site at Lindon Station after 3 days on (and off) the road
To make our way overland through our 3500 km trek, recognizing thatat times "roads" would be nonexistent, we leased two four-wheel drive campervans from Britz. Despite some minor technical glitches: failed electricalsystem which kept blowing fuses, failed starter (thanks to a helpful "hotwire" from a knowing Aussie we pushed on), unfilled battery cells, brokendoor key stuck in lock (we became very adept at climbing into the backthrough a "pass through" behind the cab), just to name a few, we persevered. However, it was those same 24 Volt batteries which we removed and usedto power my UMBRAPHILE camera when the 1.2 amp hour gel-cell ones the onesI had brought to OZ from the US failed - so no complaints! Joe Cali mademuch better time than us in his own four-wheel drive vehicle (left). We thank him for his patience.

TheDingo Fence
Keep them varments outta my state. (Oops, that doesn't sound very Aussie). Nonetheless, such was/is the intention of the longest fence in the world:5,500 km - first to isolate rabbits and now, dingos.
